The Ponds is a place we discovered when we first moved over here. It is a natural hot springs geothermal heated from the volcano. There is a life guard on duty throughout the week. I wish I had his job. The life guards seem real laid back. I should get a job down here since I am here everyday. I would just live here it is so beautiful. They are healing ponds traditionally I notice a big difference in my body since I moved over here. I the doctors say I have fibromyalgia. I no one thing when I am in the Ponds I am in no pain. There are many coconut trees so you can have free coconuts. Really cool! During the week the is a guy in the parking lot cutting them open and selling them for $3 each. Very tasty. There is also a very nice lady selling hawaiin ice out of a truck. I like the orange with creme. Yummy! During the week there are people playing music and singing. Free massages on Tuesdays at 12:00pm. Water aerobics Mondays and Fridays at 10:30am. Monday there is healing group at 12:00pm. The park is open from 7:00am to 7:00pm is you get there early it is not so crowded. There are fish that eat your dead skin do not be araid they will not hurt you. People pay big money for pedicures in some spas. You get it here free! lol! There are two shelters and barbecue great for pinics or just gathering. Has a fresh water shower and drinking fountain. The locals tell me that it use to be KIng Kamehameha's private pond and that he use to hide around there from people trying to kill him. The Ponds at rich in minerals so after you get out make sure you drink alot of water after you get out. Since I have been coming here seems like everyone smiles. All and all The Ponds is a must if you are visiting the Big Island.
